Not supporting devices

The overly specific list of devices that ARE supported should be a red flag. The iPad 4 has been out for 3 years (+/- 2 weeks), and the app stops supporting it? What is the point of purchasing an app if it has a shorter shelf life than some peoples devices? iPad 4 is still in APPL lineup, sold by AAPL (possibly only refurbished).
